Increases in Federal Research Grant Applications via Grants.gov Supported on the Cayuse Web-based Network

Portland, Oregon: Science and medical research are poised to receive large amounts of funding through the recently passed American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. Substantial portions of this money will flow through agencies like NSF, DOE, and NASA and be distributed through funding opportunities posted on Grants.gov. Cayuse, Inc., a provider of Web-based grant proposal solutions for research organizations, has added capacity to support this very kind of funding activity and is prepared to support the increased research grant traffic created by the economic stimulus plan.

Cayuse was founded 15 years ago by a research physiologist with the goal of streamlining federal grant applications so that more time was spent on research, less on proposal development. Now that research funding is more competitive than ever, the Cayuse solution is an increasingly important component in the preservation of funding to research organizations. Cayuse is pleased to see the increase in federal science and technology funding and anticipates increased volume over its web-based network.

"This influx of research funding will impact more than just science. Research funding has a multiplier effect, leading to thousands of jobs at universities, labs and non-profits all over the country," says Chris Harker, Ph.D., President. "Cayuse has always been dedicated to supporting this community and we are thrilled to be an active partner in this exciting time for research. Our mission is to make the proposal process easier so that researchers can get the funding they need."

In 2008, Cayuse customers prepared and submitted over $6 billion of research funding proposals to Grants.gov on the Cayuse424, the company’s web-based Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform.
