The Benefits of a Fully Integrated CRIS System

On-demand Webinar

The technical undertaking to develop a Current Research Information System (CRIS) meeting all modern requirements is vast, and typically these systems were created many years ago to meet the needs from that time.

Management of the full research lifecycle is made immeasurably easier when the assisting system works with end users and administrators. Providing full context and information across all aspects of the research lifecycle is fundamental to modernising research. CRIS systems that ensure information is immediately available and shared between the related components are key to underpinning today’s reporting demands.

Research assessment exercises, such as the REF in the UK, involve complex reporting to provide an insight into the quality of research at an institution. These exercises typically cross multiple areas including researcher information, outputs, projects and funding, and research impact. Such exercises can be challenging and extremely time consuming without easy access to all data.

In this session we will cover:

  • The industry-wide demands for more functionality within research systems
  • Meeting the growing security concerns and a desire for increased accountability
  • The key benefits for transitioning from an institution’s in-house legacy system towards Cloud based solutions
  • Elevating research cooperation and usability – going further than just integrating solutions to meet the demands of a modern CRIS
  • The future of global collaboration
