Portland, OR, June, 06, 2022: Cayuse, a global provider of the market-leading research administration cloud platform, and the University of the Virgin Islands, a public, historically black land-grant university in the U.S. Virgin Islands have partnered to modernize research efforts and provide a centralized hub for stakeholders. The research team at the University of the Virgin Islands will leverage Sponsored Projects, Fund Manager, Animal Oversight, Human Ethics, and Outside Interests.

Research program growth is a major initiative for the team at the University of the Virgin Islands. The University is committed to a high level of productivity and competitiveness in research and grants, as outlined in its strategic plan. This led to the consideration and ultimate decision to pursue Cayuse for their institution.

“I remember saying, if you want the Office of Sponsored Programs to grow the university research program, I need a robust multi-application system like Cayuse,” commented Mindy Solivan, Director of Sponsored Programs Sponsored Programs at the University of the Virgin Islands. “I stand behind those words.”

With a small research staff, every task, reminder, and communication carries weight. Eliminating unnecessary or inefficient tasks and processes, and integrating systems became a clear priority for the team. Among the initiatives to modernize the research program, the team at the University of the Virgin Islands needed a solution that could leverage their existing relationship with their enterprise financial software, Banner. Cayuse is an official Banner partner, which means HR and financial data will flow seamlessly to the Cayuse platform and solutions. This proven integration opened the door to a closer evaluation of Cayuse products.

Cayuse provides a centralized hub for research activities across the lifecycle of a project. With all information and communication in one place, the team not only saw an opportunity for greater efficiencies, but also enhanced visibility to reduce risk and ensure compliance. Additionally, the ability to leverage smart forms was a high priority for the team, creating a simple and effective method for configuring forms to meet their needs. Overall, Cayuse stood out from the competition with its easy-to-use interface, streamlined workflows, and valuable integrations.

“It’s obvious that they have research professionals in mind when developing their products. We are confident that these solutions will help us not only grow our research program, but ensure that every step is strong and secure,” commented Dr. David Hall, President of the University of the Virgin Islands.
