This first-of-its-kind survey taps into current trends, challenges, and changes impacting the future of research administration
The drive behind Cayuse’s 2021 State of Research benchmark survey is to gain a deep understanding of the issues, focal points, questions, and concerns facing organizations across the research lifecycle today. This study goes to the heart of Cayuse’s mission of empowering globally connected research, as the survey will result in a comprehensive report to all who participate.
Why a survey now?
2020 was an unprecedented year, to say the least. The COVID-19 pandemic has had far-reaching and lasting human, societal, and industry impacts. All of us—customers and colleagues alike—were forced to look at how and where we work, the ways we adapt, live, and interact. Given that the pandemic created significant change affecting virtually every organization—no matter the industry, location, or size—the moment is ripe for deepening our understanding of choices made today that will impact what comes along the road ahead.
We’ll explore digital transformation, technology tools, gaps, and the profound impact of technology on the research administration landscape. We’ll target perspectives on budgets, staffing and growth planning, as well as key priorities for this year and beyond. We’ll also look at current core-metric measurements and identify future metrics to further improve and optimize research operations. All of this will be examined through the prism of the entire research lifecycle, including:
- Pre-award management
- Post-award management
- Risk management
- Animal research operations
The survey has already received hundreds responses to date which will ultimately enable participants to glean valuable insights when results are analyzed and presented in a benchmark report this fall.
